Goals

So lately I've noticed a lot of parents complaining about their children. Which I know is a completely normal and common thing to do. But it's hard when the things they are complaining about, are the things I wish my child could do.

"My child never shuts up" along with "Are you sure you want him to talk?"

Well Ethan doesn't really "talk" he does babble a lot. His daily words consist of:
No, wiggle, blankie, get you, and he is trying to say more (after a lot of work)

He doesn't say Hi or Bye, or Mommy or Daddy. Simple words that most 1 year olds are already saying.

I am waiting patiently for that day that he tells me "I love you" just because, he really does love us, and not because he's repeating what we are saying. (He doesn't even do that yet)

Ethan has an extremely limited diet, he gags on most foods, and mostly eats crackers, bread, and milk.
He doesn't use a spoon or fork, simple because he must touch everything before it goes in his mouth. (This is because he has a Sensory Processing Disorder)

We also have to work extremely hard to get him to: Look at us when we are talking to him, or calling his name, to play with a toy for more than 1 minute, to sit or stand in one place or let us hold him with out him throwing a fit and tossing himself on the ground, and also to hug us, or kiss us without us having to force it on him.

I am not writing this to complain about Ethan, I love him more than anything in the world, and he is worth all the time, energy and fight. I am just hoping this makes people see, that you shouldn't take the "small" things for granted.

Oh, here are a few of Ethan's Amazing accomplishments!
He now says, Blankie!
He is starting to use the word "more" and is starting to sign it as well!
and....
He no longer needs his pacifier!! (I thought I'd never break him of that!)

Well I think I am done for now.... Please just remember to cherish every moment with your children, everything they do and say is a major accomplishment! Isn't it amazing to watch them grow and learn? I love it!  <3
